What to Expect in the First Session:

Typically, the first few sessions with a psychotherapist offers the opportunity to have a sense of what the process of working together may be like, and to gather information to help establish initial treatment goals and recommendations. If we decide to work together, we will schedule additional appointments, if you wish to do so. Prior to meeting with me, you will be provided with a written statement of my business practices for your review. After meeting several times, I will discuss with you my initial impressions and treatment recommendations. If it is determined that a referral to an additional or alternate treatment provider is indicated, I will be available to assist with the referral process, if you wish.

Rates and Insurance:

Fees will be discussed during the intial telephone call, prior to the first consultation. I am an "out-of-network" provider, which means that I do not work directly with medical insurance companies, nor do I accept insurance as a form of payment. As a licensed psychologist, my services qualify for reimbursement as an "out-of-network" provider with most major insurance companies. I will provide you with a monthly billing statement which you may submit to your insurance company, if you wish, for possible reimbursement to you. I recommend that you contact your insurance company, prior to our first appointment, to obtain information about your "out-of-network" insurance benefits for psychotherapy.

Payment:

A statement of services will be provided through "Square" at the beginning of each month for charges accrued during the month prior. Payment is expected upon receipt of this statement. Payment in the form of Visa, Mastercard, American Express and HSA credit cards is accepted.

Tele-therapy:

When clinically appropriate, online/tele-therapy, is available through "Zoom" for clients living in Maryland, DC, Virginia, and New York.  I am also a member of PSYPACT and am therefore able to offer tele-therapy to clients living in any of the PSYPACT states.  (For more information about PSYPACT states, please visit: psypact.site-ym.com).
