About Me

Rebecca Landau-Millin

I am a licensed psychologist in private practice, specializing in providing psychotherapy to children (from pre-school age through elementary school), adolescents, and adults. Prior to receiving my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology, I earned a Master's Degree in Social Work, and received post-graduate training through the Two-Year, Adult Psychotherapy Program from the Baltimore Washington Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. My training and experience as a clinical social worker included providing psychotherapy and social work services in community mental health, psychiatry clinic and hospital settings. I earned my Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University, Professional Psychology Program in 2003, where my training included providing psychological evaluation and psychotherapy to children in pre-school, therapeutic nursery school, and elementary school settings, and to adolescents and adults in a university-based clinic; as well as predoctoral training in a university college counseling center. During my Doctoral training, I completed the Psychotherapy Fellowship Program with The Baltimore Washington Center for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. Upon earning my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, I have provided psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults, and couples, starting in a group practice in 2003, and in private practice since 2008. I have received advanced, post-doctoral training in adult psychotherapy, child development and child psychotherapy, couples' therapy and in treating emotional over-eating. I am committed to continuing education and participate regularly in advanced training through clinical seminars and conferences related to psychotherapy with children, adolescents, adults, and couples.

My primarily psychodynamic training and orientation allows for a comprehensive understanding of the developmental, social and emotional factors that may be influencing the difficulties that bring one to therapy. Depending upon the concerns, interests, and goals of each person, psychotherapy is tailored to meet the needs and circumstances of each individual through a range of treatment techniques from the perspectives of psychodynamic, developmental, interpersonal and cognitive-behavioral treatments, as indicated. I welcome questions and discussion about the psychotherapy process and treatment options.
